You have two options to work from home. Stay in the company you are in and ask if they can accommodate this for you. Technology means that working from home is a much more accessible option for employees. How great for us employees!! So what is the downside? Well you are still complaining to your partner about working for someone else and you have a little freedom to do the things you want. You are most likely working more hours just to get the work done and still find things that have not been completed.

So the second option is starting your own business where you are your own boss. You can choose your hours and the business is only as good as the energy you place into it. You will have cut out your travel time to and from the office, have time to attend important events like the kid’s soccer game or Easter egg hat parade and when your business starts to grow then you can take that holiday you have always dreamed of whenever it suits you and your business…not your boss.

So when it comes to a home based business you need to be smart. Here are some tips:

1) Find something you are passionate about

At the end of the day when starting your home based business you need to love what you provide to others. Take for example that you have a passion for cars. Would you be more successful selling houses or cars? Would your passion ignite when you are showing people the inside of their next house or jumping behind the wheel of their sexy dream Porsche? To some neither is appealing so find that product or service that works for you. If you attempt to sell something you do not believe in then guess what? That will come across thick and strong to the person on the other end and they will find about as much joy in it as you.

2) Research, research, research

Ask all the questions you need to feel comfortable with the company you are potentially joining. If it is a legitimate company then they won’t mind and they will have the answers for you and all the confidence with a proven track record. If they send you information read and read again. Jot down your questions and always ask if you are unclear.

3) Take a risk

The difference between someone who is successful at running a business and the person who is not comes down to one thing. Never give up. If you see the potential for what you are doing then persist with the mindset that you will achieve your goal. Or you can quit but I will always remember a great saying “What are you quitting to?”

4) Go to bed with gratitude.

Each night before you go to bed write down what during the day you were grateful for. Think of as many things as you can from the simple fact you can see with your own eyes to an amazing favor someone did for you. Don’t miss a night of this. You will find after a couple of weeks how much better you feel about your day.

5) Visualize

What are the things you want to achieve in your life? Get clear on them, write them down and visualize achieving those things every day. Make it as real as you can so it evokes a passion inside you like you have already received it. If you feel this passion then you will take action to achieve it.

6) Wake up every day with passion

How you feel will transfer over to the person you are prospecting with. Every morning jump out of bed and start to get excited about what opportunities will be presented for you today. If you start the day off great then trust me it can only get better. Forget what happened yesterday and focus on all the possibilities of today. If you had an absolutely awesome day yesterday then use that to spur you on. Basically what I am saying is don’t let a bad day remain in your mind. Let it go and start fresh.

7) Do the work on yourself. A successful entrepreneur shines with confidence, motivation and desire. They have a no quit policy. Find ways to bring those qualities out that are already within you.

So now that you have some information its time to get moving. Start searching for that home based business that is right for you. Get passionate about making a change to your current circumstances.
